Not only is Girraween known for its beautiful wildflowers, but for its rich variety of wildlife as well. Whether your interest is birds, mammals, fish, reptiles or insects, you are sure to find an intriguing species that will engage your curiosity.
Girraween's wide range of environments provides a home for animals usually found north, south, east and west of the park, as well as for animals that are entirely unique to the area.
Where possible, we have tried to use photos of species taken actually in the park, however, some species have been represented by photos taken elsewhere. These photos are marked with the [⊗] symbol.

The lists of species on these pages are a combination of what we've photographed in the park and the Girraween Wildlife Species List brochure. The brochure is available from the Visitor Information Centre. This list is not complete and is subject to change.
