The huge concrete cell house that was home to many military and federal prisoners between 1912 and 1963. Some of the more famous inmates were Al "Scarface" Capone, "Doc" Barker, Alvin "Creepy" Karpis, George "Machine Gun" Kelly, Floyd Hamilton, and Robert Stroud - the "Birdman of Alcatraz".
